Housekeeping/room services are efficient and all our requests have been promptly satisfied without need to repeat them (well done to the team!), fresh fruit basket was not replaced daily, small details but make the difference. The room had the largest bed I ever seen: it is a eight(!!) Pillows layout, practically almost a double kingsize. Room view is really awesome, the best part of the room is the terrace and open pavillon, you can host a party for 10 people very easily. We had panoramic villa in the highest part of the resort this is the best location for privacy and quiteness and obviously a stunning view. Our arrival and check in procedure has been quick and smooth. This is our first time to Seychelles so we have no comparison with other properties in these islands, however being Raffles and considering the rates, this is a 'no mercy' review since you expect the excellence. At Banyan Tree could order fruit, crepes & a choice of half dozen mains without visiting buffet. Hotels of this level normally offer more table service. Just extra stairs and trip hazard Breakfast looked good on first day, but pretty much the same everyday (except the last - thanks Chef!). Thankfully had some with us Raised bed might be worthwhile for ocean views but not for garden view. They spoilt our villa terrace experience alos Dressing gowns lovely, towels could be bigger & fluffier, slippers horrible. Double beds fantastic but mesh loungers disgraceful. Pool is beautiful & attendants very good. To get to Losean we had to get out of the buggy, walk a short distance, then get back in as it went outside permitted guest area. We were offered help but that was only the first day It is a pity the needs of the less abled were not considered. My partner uses a stick so a buffet is difficult for her. Eg you are never asked if you want more tea, juice etc. I appreciate this is not high priority as only 1 person a day visits gym! Spa area looked nice, waterwalls beautiful generally other staff are too reactive not proactive - they dont anticipate needs. What is the point of exercise bikes with no way of telling how far/fast you have gone? TVs dont work at all on other machines nor other features on most. Both greatly appreciated Gym is disappointing. Similarly Brigitte with planning trips outside. She also addressed our initial concerns with relevant departments. The hard work of the Executive Chef, Chief Concierge & Front Office Manager Ailsa left us with a far more positive outlook than initially Ailsa took the time when allocating our room to understand my partner's disability and needs which was much appreciated.
Also know: After 3.30pm the sun is gone, since the resort is faced towards east. beach: amazing sand, but a very narrow beach plus: rocky after 2 Meters in the water. the wooden base, on which all suites/rooms are build on, are partly rotten.
Not satisfying, since you expect that for a 35 dollar burger. Well, good luck to you! For the rest of the hotel: - rooms: were fine - food: medium/bad. Humiliation and racism at its best! But the good news is: everything in life comes back.
Guided by their own security we had to pack at 8.30 pm and leave into the dark. We got kicked out by the second general manager because of kissing at the pool. at 6pm at the reception they shouted at us: "you did the ACT at the pool", "you are disgusting", "You leave immediately, we already called a taxi". Just like the honeymoon-couples did around us. We were exhausted and relaxing, light kisses on the daybed. We arrived at 12 o'clock after over 30 hours traveling time. But not in this hotel: I was there with my boyfriend at the pool on a daybed. Living in the year 2017 one would expect much more tolerance for gay people, especially on the seychelles, since being gay is allowed by law (June 2016).
